We are glad to inform you of the first series of Extension Lectures in the current academic year 2019-20. Prof.Ranganath S., Director, RV Institute of Sanskrit Studies, NMKRV College for Women, Bengaluru will give a series of lectures at the Department of Sanskrit and Philosophy, RKMVERI, Belur Math. Deliberations will be on the meaning of the hymns in Ṛgveda with special reference to Agnisūktam 1.1.1 of Ṛksaṃhitā .


Professor Ranganath holds a doctoral degree for his work on Contribution of Vācaspati-miśra to Indian Philosophy from Bangalore University. He was awarded D.Litt by Himachal Pradesh University in 2005 for Critical Estimate of Post Independence Sanskrit Literature. Ranganath is a recipient of several gold medals, awards and laurels such as Vedabhūṣaṇa,
Vedaśrī, Vācaspati and Vidyāvāridhi. He is the Kannada language Expert for Multilingual Sanskrit Etymological Dictionary Project, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India since January 2014. Department of Sanskrit and Philosophy at RKMVERI, Belur Math heartily welcomes the highly acclaimed, gifted professor. Details of his lectures are as follows:
