On the occasion of sacred Shankara Jayanti, a whole day symposium is being organized by the Department of Sanskrit and Philosophy, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute on 30 May 2026, Saturday. An attempt has been to capture and portray the multifaceted personality of Śrī-Śaṅkara-Bhagavatpādāḥ through hymns, his commentaries (bhāṣyas) on the prasthānatraya (which are his magnum opus) and mananavicāra (contemplation-deliberation) of the Vedanta vākyas (pithy sentences) from the prasthānatraya by our scholars. The deliberations and interactions will all be fully in Sanskrit (with some explanatory interpositions in Bengali).
