Admission to the PhD in Sanskrit Programme for the academic year 2026-2027
Applications are invited from eligible MALE candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme in Sanskrit for the academic year 2026–2027 at the Department of Sanskrit Studies, RKMVERI.

Essential Qualification
- M.A. (or equivalent) in Sanskrit or an allied subject with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from a university recognised by the UGC
OR - BA (Hons.) in Sanskrit (4 years) with >7.5 CGPA in accordance with NEP 2020 from a university recognised by the UGC
Preferable Qualification
- Candidates with a valid research fellowship from any recognized funding agency such as UGC, ICPR, etc., will be given preference.
- Candidates applying with MA will be given preference if they have cleared the UGC-NET.
How to Apply
- New applicants have to first register (https://zfrmz.in/xGuqAQvknvA18zKiTh98) , then login to the Online Admission Portal and fill up the online application form.
- After successfully submitting the application form, pay the application fee (INR 500.00) online from the same Portal. Link can be found under ‘Options’ next to the program name on the Dashboard.
- While filling up the online application-form attach the scanned copies of your passport size photo, mark-sheets and other applicable certificates/documents.
- Once Application-form is successfully submitted and application-fee is paid, Receipt (also Application-summary) will be available for download from the same Portal from the ‘Dashboard‘.

- Last date for submission of the application: 10 August 2026
Selection Procedure
- Selection will be based on the applicant’s performance in an entrance examination (written and/or oral) to be conducted tentatively in the 2nd week of August 2026.
- Exact date and details of the examination will be notified to the eligible applicants in due course.
