Admission to Certificate course in Communicative Sanskrit (Preliminary level) for January 2023

Applications are invited for admission to the Certificate course in Communicative Sanskrit (Preliminary level) for the Academic-batch starting from January 2023.

The Department of Sanskrit & Philosophy under the School of Indian Heritage, RKMVERI conducts series of programmes to teach Sanskrit and a little of the treasures of wisdom of the Sanskrit literature as a outreach activity to people of all age groups and all walks of life. These programmes start from the preliminary level, and are taught to people of all age groups and all walks of life, and on Sundays so as to enable working people also to enrol for the programmes.

Programme Structure

The three-­tier programme consists of the following stages (each of 6 months duration):

  1. Preliminary : alphabet, sentence construction, spoken Sanskrit.
  2. Intermediate :­ basic grammar, Gita and Upanishad chanting with meaning.
  3. Advanced : higher grammar, selections from literature, composition.

Eligibility (Preliminary level)

  • Any one who yearns to learn Sanskrit from the beginning may apply
  • Age Limit: No upper limit

Class Mode: Offline and Online

Last date of application and paying the Course fee: 25 December 2022, Sunday

No. of Seats: 100 (first come first serve basis)

Medium of Instruction: Bengali

Course duration: 6 months

Course Fee: 2000/-

Classes start from: 08 January 2023, Sunday

Class timings:

  • Offline Batch-I: Every Sunday from 9.45 am to 1 pm (15 minutes break in-between)
  • Offline Batch-II: Every Sunday from 1.45 pm to 5 pm (15 minutes break in-between)
  • Online Batch: Every Sunday from 9.45 am to 1 pm (15 minutes break in-between); Exam for online batch will be conducted in Offline Mode only

Note: Please mention preferred class timing in the application form

How to Apply :

  1. New applicants have to first register on the Online Admission Portal (https://isr.rkmvu.ac.in/admission)
  2. Then Login and fill up the application form online and upload soft-copies of photo, mark-sheet(s).
  3. After successfully submitting the online application form, pay the Course fee online from the same Portal.
  4. Once Application-form is successfully submitted and course-fee is paid, Receipt (also Application-summary) will be available for download from the same Portal from the ‘Dashboard‘.
