Department of Sanskrit Studies and Philosophy under the School of Indian Heritage at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Belur Math is organizing a 4-day National workshop on Navya-­nyaya.

Inauguration – Wednesday 16 August 2017 at 10 am
Inaugural and Keynote Address:

Structure of the workshop:

  • 10.30 am­ Navya­-nyāya-­praveśa: Fundamentals of Navya-­nyāya
  • 12 Noon­ Tea Break
  • 12.15 pm­ Navya-nyya­-prayoga: Navya-nyya techniques applied to polemical texts of Advaita Vedanta with special reference to Advaita­-siddhi of Madhusdana­-sarasvatī
  • 1.45 pm­ Lunch Break
  • 2.30 pm­ Interactive Session
  • 3.15 pm­ Navya-­nyaya­-parampar : Highlights from Navya-­nyya texts: Tarka-­sagraha to Gādādharī
  • 4.45 pm­ Tea

Schedule:

  • 10 am  Invocation by vedic chanting
  • 10.10 am  Welcome Address by  Swami Atmapriyananda, Vice Chancellor, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Belur Math
  • 10.20 am  Introducing the theme of the workshop: Swami Japasiddhananda Head, Department of Sanskrit Studies and Philosophy, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute
  • 10.30 am  Inaugural and Keynote Address by Prof.K.E.Devanathan Vice Chancellor, Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, Tirupati
  • 11.30 am  Tea break
  • 11.45 am  Navya­-nyāya­-śa : Dr.Vishwanath Dhital will speak on Fundamentals of Navya-­nyāya

Participants:

  • Mphil, PhD scholars and faculty members in Sanskrit are invited to participate.
  • A limited number of outstation participants will be provided accommodation and boarding, but they will have to make their own travel arrangements
